Assembly Instructions
- Mill Lumber
Joint and plane all hardwood pieces. Ensure consistent thickness, flat faces, and square edges. - Cut Components
Cut all maple, walnut, and cherry strips according to the cut sheet. Label each piece. - Dry Fit
Arrange pieces in the following order:
Maple → Walnut → Cherry → Maple → Cherry → Walnut → Maple.
Verify appearance before glue-up. - Glue-Up
Apply Titebond III to all mating surfaces. Clamp firmly using alternating clamp directions. Allow 24 hours for full cure. - Flatten Panel
Remove squeeze-out, sand flat, and verify the panel remains square. Trim edges if necessary. - Cut Final Size
Trim panel to 18″ × 14″. Verify all corners are square. - Cut Handle Openings
Layout handle locations. Drill ends using a Forstner bit and connect cuts with a jigsaw. Sand smooth. - Route Juice Groove
Using a juice groove bit, cut a 1/4″ wide × 1/4″ deep groove around the perimeter. - Round Over Edges
Use a 1/8″ round-over bit on all exposed edges. - Sand
Sand progressively using 80, 120, 180, and 220 grit abrasives. - Add Engraving
Engrave the reserved logo area before applying finish. - Apply Finish
Apply two coats of food-grade mineral oil followed by a final coat of beeswax conditioner. Buff to a satin sheen.
